Whether it’s an order from Amazon or a care package sent by family, it’s exciting for a college student living away from home to receive a delivery. Students at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, can now pick up their parcels from a high-tech, colorful bank of lockers that boasts 24-hour, self-service.
The in-house communications team from Bucknell University designed, printed, and installed the locker graphics. The goal was to craft a creative design that clearly identifies each locker bank so students can easily find the section holding their package. Drawing from words in the university’s mission statement, the designers chose to brand the locker sections with inspiring terms: exploration, ambition, passion, imagination, innovation, and dedication.
The Bucknell team used its Roland VersaCamm VS-540i eco-solvent printer to image graphics onto more than 600 square feet of Arlon DPF 8200 High Tack vinyl in 42 panels.
Installers had to meticulously cut out each of the 498 locker door openings after applying the graphics. The final product is a cohesive design across the 15-foot-wide banks of lockers.

“The result is a modern, bold, student-centric space that provides a more efficient way to distribute student packages. Reaction from students has been overwhelmingly positive,” says Tom Lydon, director of Bucknell’s Publications, Print, and Mail.
