Four Upcoming Shows To Note

As the mid-point of 2004 passes, it's time to consider which tradeshows to hit in the latter part of the year. Here are four majors to add to your list:

Seybold San Francisco: The tag line for Seybold San Francisco 2004 is “From Concept to Reality: Translating vision through publishing technology.” Held August 16-19 at Moscone West, the conference will offer four in-depth tracks of programs”?Creative, Content Management, Marketing, and Publishing. Nearly 30 half-day tutorials on media technologies (PDF, XML, color, platforms, etc.) will be offered, as will five “Seybold Intensives,” for those who can only afford a limited time at the conference. This year's event also will include a Product Pavilion, where vendors can show off their wares. Fees: $25 Product Pavilion only ($50 after July 16 and $75 on-site); $1995 for full-access conference and tutorial pass ($2295 after July 16 and $2395 on-site); additional combination-packages are available. Specialty Printing & Imaging Technology Show/DPI Conference: Hosted by the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) and the Digital Printing & Imaging Association (DPI), this expo/conference combo will be held October 6-9 in Minneapolis. The exposition features more than 400 exhibitors showcasing technologies including digital imaging, screenprinting, pad printing, embroidery, embossing, hot stamping, and finishing. More than 50 educational sessions will also be offered; among the topics tackled will be “ROI and Pricing for Digital Imaging,” “UV Digital Printing,” “White Ink,” “Outdoor Graphics Go Digital,” “Narrow Format Digital Imaging,” and others.

Graph Expo and Converting Expo: Held October 10-13 at McCormick Place South in Chicago, this year's Graph Expo is a combination exposition and educational event projected to draw more than 600 exhibitors and more than 40,000 attendees. The 375,000-sq-ft show floor will showcase everything from traditional and digital presses and printers to desktop software, cameras, scanners and more. Back by popular demand this year is the show's Wide Format Pavilion, which will showcase wide-format printers and their applications. Beyond the show floor's offerings are more than 60 educational seminars. Categories will include: Digital, Color, Pre-Media, Production, Business, Management, Financial, Sales, and others. Fees: $25 for exhibits only ($40 after September 10); $780 for a full conference pass ($900 after September 10); additional packages are available. (Graph Expo: www.graphexpo.com)

PhotoPlus Expo: Geared toward professional photographers and creatives, the 2004 PhotoPlus Expo will feature more than 200 exhibitors showcasing both digital and traditional tools and equipment. Although its primary focus is capture, the show also addresses storage, output, and display. The Photography & Design Conference will offer more than 100 seminars hitting on the latest technologies(information available in late summer). Fees: Entrance to the Expo only is free if registered prior to September 30 ($40 after September 30); a Gold Expo Pass is $40 ($60 after September 30); educational workshops/seminars are additional.
