QUESTION:

Do you read business-advice book?

  • I do read them, but typically based on referrals from a friend. I find the market for them is so glutted today, that unless someone I know and trust tells me that they got something out of a particular one, I don’t take an interest. — Wade Neff, Strategic Factory, Owings Mills, Md.
  • The business-advice books and articles that have had the most impact and implementable info that stuck with me are almost invariably the ones that talk about connecting better with prospects and clients. The goal is to reach a deeper understanding of their needs, and where we can legitimately help them do their jobs better. — Darren LoPrinzi, Color Reflections, Philadelphia, Pa.
  • All the time, but I have yet to finish a book in its entirety for more than decade or two. Being a business owner has taught me to be an excellent ‘fire putter outer,’ but that also means my attention span has diminished. — Linda Fong, Justipher Inc., dba FASTSIGNS Oakland; FASTSIGNS Hayward
  • I try to listen to audio books every day. Currently I’m relistening to ‘Principles’ by Ray Dalio — one of my favorite reads. — Brian Adam, Olympus Group, Milwaukee, Wisc.
