Digital Printing Summer Camp from IMI

Five courses highlight this annual event for manufacturers and suppliers

Digital Printing Summer Camp 2004, from the Information Management Institute (IMI), will be held July 19-23 in Cambridge, MA. The camp comprises the five following courses, all of which are geared more toward the manufacturer and supplier end rather than the independent print provider:

“From Formulation to Fill: Manufacturing Inkjet Inks for Performance & Reliability”?Describes the issues of inkjet ink testing, scale-up for manufacturing, manufacturing technology, and getting inks to work in hardware devices. Led by Dr. Alan Hudd and John Corrall, Xennia Technology. July 21-22.

“Inkjet Printing Media: What Makes a Successful Inkjet Printing Media”?A new course describing inkjet media grades, ink/paper interactions, characterization tools, and paper design. Led by Dr. John Oliver of Innov8 Consulting. July 21-22.

“Theory of Inkjet Technology”?Describes the latest advancements in inkjet hardware and ink technologies. Led by Mike Willis of Pivotal Resources and Dr. Alan Hudd of Xennia Technology. July 19-20.

“Inkjet Deposition of Materials: Physics, Systems, and Applications for Microdispensing”?Describes the basic concepts of piezo actuator technology, printhead fabrication, and the application opportunities for inkjet microdispensing. Led by Dr. David Wallace of MicroFab Technologies.

“Managing Product Development for Value”?A new course designed to provide fundamental skills for the entire chain of steps required for successful innovation. Led by George A. Gibson, Xerox Innvation Group.
