Large-format cutters and engravers are capable of executing computer-directed complex cuts with intricate details and engraving photographic
images onto a wide variety of flexible and rigid substrates, including paper and fabric to metal and wood. What follows is just a

Vytek F/X Laser
Using sealed CO2 laser technology
in power ranges from 25 to 200 watts,
Vytek's F/X Laser series is available with
work areas of 24 x 36-, 26 x 51-, and 51
x 51 in. The F/X machines can cut and
engrave a wide variety of media.

Able to work with most software applications,
the F/X Laser series features: a dual
cutting-head assembly, cutting speeds up
to 60 in./sec, resolutions up to 1200 dpi,
an integrated laser pointer, roller track,
tile tray, and an easy-to-use LCD keypad.
Photorealistic software is optional. A fully
enclosed design and a built-in downdraft
fume-evacuation table allow the lasers to
fit into most production environments.

DCC-9000-PA from
Beam Dynamics

The latest in Beam Dynamics' Lumen DCC
line of computer-controlled laser cutters is
the DCC-9000-PA for unattended loading
and cutting. The 9000-PA offers the same
features as the company's 9000 unit”?a 4
x 4-ft vacuum cutting bed; registration to
within 0.001 in.; speeds up to 2000 in./min;
and the ability to simultaneously perform
kiss cuts, through cuts, and engraving.

The DCC-9000-PA can handle a wide
variety of materials (thickness depends
on material: 0.75 in. for acrylic, 0.11 in.
for stainless steel, and 1 in. for wood). The
PA unit offers an Automated Pallet Loader
that allows users to load the pallets, begin
the cutting job, and move onto another
task. The Barcode Reader and the Job
Batch Software enable the Lumen to read
the job code, load the proper software and
job specs, and perform the proper cuts.

Universal Laser XL
Universal Laser offers an XL series of
laser systems for engraving, cutting, and
marking needs. Available with a 36 x 24-
or 48 x 24-in. field, the XL lasers accommodate
a variety of materials. Laser configurations
range from single or dual 10 to
60-watt lasers to a single 300-watt laser.

The XL series offers: auto focus, an
oversized front door for easy loading and
unloading; a load and save setting for
speedy repeat of jobs; a red pointer beam
for precise material positioning; a large
viewing window to monitor work progress;
and an optional camera system for
more accurate positioning.

Orca Photonics CFL System
The Continuous Feed Laser (CFL) system
from Orca Photonic Systems is designed
for outline cutting, kiss cutting, and fast
web-based slitting. Complete with a
rollfed conveyor belt, the CFL can cut a
wide range of materials up to 60-in. wide.
In addition, it can cut shapes from a continuous
roll of material.

The CFL features a CO2 laser, 0.0015-
in. repeatability, accuracy to 0.004-in.,
speeds up to 30 in./sec., and either a
manual or automatic table. Orca's Flat
Bed Laser System (50 x 50 or 60 x 50 in.)
can be upgraded to the CFL system.

MGE's i-cut Laser FX
Comprising the MGE i-cut vision system
and a Vytek base, the i-cut Laser FX
claims a position accuracy of 0.005 in.
and repeatability as close as 0.002 in. The
CO2 sealed laser cuts up to 60 in./sec and
will cut a wide variety of printed materials,
excluding PVC.

Working areas available: 36 x 24, 51 x
36, and 51 x 51 in. The laser comes complete
with an i-cut vision registration system,
the i-cut workstation, PC, monitor,
and tool/head holder. The i-cut Laser offers
power options from 30 to 200 watts; other
options include laser cooling and fume
exhaust systems, and engraving software.
