GIA Offers Color-Management Seminars

"Color Without Limits" touring series will hit 34 cities in 2005

The Graphic Intelligence Agency, the professional service unit of GretagMacbeth, has designed a series of one-day seminars to help digital print shops, designers and photo professionals simplify and understand color management. A touring event, the “Color Without Limits” tour will visit 34 North American cities, January through April 2005. Adobe Systems and HP are also tour sponsors.

“This seminar will provide attendees with the applied knowledge to effectively implement color management,” GIA reports. “It will demonstrate how to achieve the best possible color for the entire workflow, including capture, display, editing, proofing and final output.”

Dates and locations are (note that some cities have multiple seminars):

— January: Cleveland (27th)

— February: Chicago (1st), San Diego (1st), Detroit (3rd), Phoenix (3rd), Indianapolis (8th), San Francisco (8th), Cincinnati (10th), San Jose, CA (10th), Milwaukee (15th), Los Angeles (15th), Minneapolis (17th), Anaheim (17th)

— March: New York (1st), Portland, OR (1st), Philadelphia (3rd), Seattle (3rd), Boston (8th), Kansas City (8th), Hartford, CT (10th), Denver (10th), Baltimore (15th), Dallas (15th), Washington DC (17th), Austin, TX (17th), Chicago (22nd), New Orleans (22nd), New York (23rd), Nashville (24th), Charlotte (29th), Orlando (29th), Atlanta (31st), Miami, FL (31st)

The full-day seminar costs $349 per attendee, and includes lunch. In addition, each attendee will receive a GIA Color Toolkit, including a GretagMacbeth Eye-One Display 2, Eye-One Match 3 software, the GIA Guide to Color, and GIA's CD-based color tools.
