Another 2009 FESPA Digital Print Award winner (first place, Fine Art): Sweden-based Tobex AB’s work for textile designer Liz Nilsson. For the “Pink Thursday” exhibit at the Trelleborg Museum in Sweden, Tobex output the image onto a 32.8 x 2.3-ft piece of viscose/silk velvet fabric, using a Mimaki TX2 printer with pigment inks. Achieving ink penetration and accurate color reproduction versus the original were difficult, the shop reports, necessitating extensive file manipulation.
