Building Wrap Brightens Dreary Neighborhood

Artist Julia Gruner collaborated with KWOM graphix in Overath, Germany, to produce a 4300-square-foot installation as part of the “new talents – biennale cologne” arts festival in Cologne. The graphic was crafted as a protest against the bleakness of local postwar architecture, according to Gruner’s website; the design was created by photographing a mix of paints in an old french-fry tray. KWOM used Durst Rho 512R and HP Latex 260 printers to image WrapTheFloor Aslan DFP 47 material, and no laminate was required.
