TO PROMOTE THE new hit Hulu show “Dopesick,” Image Options in Foothill Ranch, California, printed a billboard graphic accompanied by nine custom, supersized 3D pills. The pills were produced in various sizes per client-supplied dimensions, and were constructed out of sign foam, wooden mounts, and glue. The graphic was printed via an EFI Vutek GS5000r superwide-format printer onto Ultraflex Billboard Select Eclipse FL, a 7-ounce, black-backed substrate for billboards.

  • Committed
Image Options had to create the font to match the “10” imprint on the pills to represent the 10 mg that is prevalent in the show.
  • Unique
The 3D pills were made to break the frame of the billboard to draw interest from passerby.
  • Engineered
“The hole mounting templates were supplied on installation drawing and included as targets directly on the billboard print,” says Jeff Gray, marketing specialist, Image Options.
See page 16 for a BTS look on how the pills were made.
