Agfa Graphics and IDEAlliance have partnered to offer an intensive three-day course this September on digital wide- and grand-format printing with the G7 Expert/Professional Training program.

At the end of the three-day course, participants will become G7 certified in the fields of color management, process and quality control for proofing and printing. The program is ideal for digital and offset press operators, pressroom and prepress supervisors and technicians, quality assurance managers, and printing equipment suppliers and vendors.

Developed by IDEAlliance, the G7 Expert/Professional training is a theory-based program that combines lab instruction and lectures for applying the G7 method on both offset and digital presses. The program certifies participants for two years and can be applied to any print process.

The event takes place Tuesday, September 9th and Wednesday, September 10th from 8:30am – 5pm and Thursday, September 11th from 8:30am – 4pm at the Pitman Digital Imaging Customer Center located at 21908 East Valley Boulevard, City Of Industry, CA 91789.

“Printers who achieve G7 training from certified G7 Experts can become qualified as G7 Master qualified print providers,” said Larry D'Amico, vice-president Digital Imaging, Agfa Graphics. “We recommend this course for those who are serious about achieving the highest levels of their craft and who want to provide the highest quality to their customers.”

Leading the program is HutchColor's Don Hutcheson, the inventor of G7 and an instructor with more than 40 years' experience in photography, design, prepress, printing and color science. Hutcheson's methodologies helped create today's printing and proofing standards.
