Xeikon Diamond Awards

Xeikon has launched the 8th edition of its Xeikon Diamond Awards (XDA)for digital color printing. The XDA rewards the printers who “have realized the most outstanding applications” printed on a Xeikon digital color press.

Submitted work must have been completed on a Xeikon press between January 2004 and March 2005. Work can be submitted in one or more of five categories (three submissions per category max):

Effective applications–printed matter that enhances the customer's communication activities (customized or localized jobs, versioning jobs, just-in-time printing (short or large orders), Web-to-print, etc.).

Individualized applications–documents addressed to a specific target group in a personalized way (personalized documents to reach a single person, direct mail, variable image printing, statements, etc.).

Unique print applications–printed matter that has been created using specific Xeikon features (e.g., print widths of up to 500mm/20 in. with virtually no restriction on sheet length–large format posters, banners displays and POS material–print on special substrates, unique digital printing concepts, extremely large runs, etc.).

Profitable packaging & labels–digital color packaging and label printing that gives way to markets and applications that could not be tackled before (short-run labels and packaging, cardboard boxes, personalized labels and packs, packaging for test-marketing, etc.)

Xeikon digital printing to promote own business–printed matter that takes advantage of unique Xeikon features and benefits to create self-advertising digitally printed matter (e.g., all the “self promotional” printed matter; from original direct mailing to self-promotional labels, posters, business cards, etc.)

A professional jury will judge the entries and select the winners and runners up (one winner and two runners up per category, plus one overall winner). Deadline for entries is April 18, 2005; winners will be announced in May 2005. (Xeikon: www.xeikon.com/xda)
