Leggett & Platt introduced its latest 98-
in. wide Virtu 7200 printer at SGIA. The
Virtu 7200 is a 4- or 6-color plus white
(CMYKcmW) UV-curable flatbed printer
that offers versatility,
high resolutions, and
production speeds.

The 7200's versatility
includes the option to
use rigid (up to 2.5 in.
thick) or rolled media
(with roll-to-roll option);
dual-sheet efficiency,
which allows it to print
up to two 4 x 8-ft sheets
side-by-side; and white
ink as a standard ink (using L & P's HueV
inkset). In addition, the HueV inks come
in 5-liter “cubes,” which should result in
longer print runs without the necessity of
filling ink tanks, says L&P.

The Virtu 7200 allows for resolutions
up to 600 dpi at print speeds from 1000
to 3000 sq ft/hr. Speeds are achieved, in
part, through printing the full width of the
machine”?in other words, on 98-in.
media, the 7200 prints the entire width
and allows for 98-in. bleeds.

In addition, the Virtu 7200 offers Spectra
printheads, a new Onyx RIP, training,
and a 1-yr warranty. At this writing, the
7200 was still in beta testing, with delivery
scheduled by the end of the 1Q 2005.
Price: $745,000. (Leggett & Platt: www.lp-digital.com)
