Chris Laniak
VP of Operations, Excelsus Solutions

Chris Laniak is the VP of Operations at Excelsus Solutions in Rochester, New York. The company was created by his father, Mark Laniak, in 2005. Laniak’s role focuses on innovation, automation, and researching new ways to add value and ease to the Excelsus customer experience. He’s a veteran of the US Navy where he learned the benefits of leading by example. He reads one to two business and professional development books a week. “I’m constantly looking for new content to consume to improve every aspect of running a business, managing people, and creating a company that attracts new talent,” he says. “We like to cultivate employee engagement and communication through use of our daily operating priorities: Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Flexibility.” When he’s not at work, Chris spends as much time as possible outdoors with his family: camping, fishing, and exploring the many beautiful places in New York State. In his home workshop, he enjoys designing and building functional parts on a 3D printer. “With small kids in the house, most of the time it’s to fix, repair, or add features to their toys,” he says. Every now and then he gets a little time to himself to work on his Jeep and restore vintage pedal cars.
