Seal is relaunching its AquaSeal line with the introduction of AquaSeal 2600 and AquaSeal 3300. The 102-in. and 129-in. liquid laminators coat graphics with AquaSeal low-VOC, water-based clearcoats, which are compatible with solvent and light-solvent digital prints. Applications include fleet graphics, outdoor banners, billboards, backlit graphics, and fine-art reproductions.

The AquaSeal coaters feature the AccuCure system that monitors the surface temperature of the coated media as it exits the machine. “Surface temperature is an excellent gauge of how well a particular liquid coating has cured,” says Seal's Jim Tatum. “The AccuCure system measures this temperature and feeds the data back to the digital controller, which automatically adjusts the speed of the machine for optimum performance.”

The new laminators can apply clearcoats at a speeds up to 7 ft/min, with wet coating thicknesses ranging from 27 to 81 microns (0.3 to 1 mil). In addition, the machine features an infrared curing system, an easier cleaning system, and it has the ability to run two similar rolls of media through the laminator simultaneously, with separate tension on each roll.

AquaSeal is approved/certified for use with 3M Scotchprint and Avery Dennison ICS. When properly applied, the AquaSeal coating can protect graphics up to 5 years.

Price: $38,500 (2600), $47,500 (3300). (Seal Graphics Americas: www.sealgraphics.com)
