PMA '08

Primarily focused on the capture side of things, the annual PMA (www.pmai.org) event is expected to draw more than 650 exhibitors this year, all demonstrating their latest products, technologies, and supplies. The yearly DIMA Conference, hosted by the Digital Imaging Marketing Association of PMA, explores imaging issues such as color management, raw workflow, and metadata and takes place immediately before the PMA show, January 29-30.

Also on the expo floor are the following events:

* DIMA Digital Printer Shoot-Out: Digital printers, ink, media, and RIPs compete using a challenging target file. Expert judges evaluate for neutral gray balance reproduction, saturation, shadow detail, overall tonality, hue shift, and more.

* DIMA Innovative Digital Product Awards: The DIMA Innovative Digital Product Awards are given to products or services that are either distinct or the first of their kind. The awards are selected by industry press members and awarded on the opening day of the PMA 08 tradeshow.

PMA 08 also will feature more than 200 educational sessions for digital imagers, photographers, photo labs, retailers, and others; the DIMA Conference comprises 40 educational sessions.
