Novus Imaging has introduced Ultra, an industrial-grade line of UV LED flatbed printers featuring a steel frame and auto-masking technology, designed to eliminate the need for manual taping during print production. Offering a print area of 5 x 10 ft, the series' intended applications include packaging, signage, posters, tradeshow graphics, P-O-P displays, décor, and more.

CMYK configurations from one to three printheads per color are available in CMYK for the Ultra I, II, and III models, respectively. The machines can be upgraded to add printheads, two white ink channels, varnish, or additional colors (red, green, blue, violet, orange, gray).

Draft speeds – designed to be sellable – range from 960 sq ft/hr (18 beds or 24 boards/hr) on the Ultra I to 2320 sq ft/hr (29 beds or 48 boards) with the Ultra III. At its fastest, the Ultra I performs at 245 sq ft/hr in high definition mode; the Ultra III offers 680 sq ft/hr. max. production speeds.

The Ultra line has Ricoh Gen5 printheads with 7-, 14-, and 21-pL variable drop sizes driven by the RW Lycos Print Engine for grayscale resolutions up to 1200 dpi.

Ultra flatbeds feature an optional automatic loader for rigid single sheets, as well as the company’s patent-pending vacuum table system, designed to eliminate the need for manual masking. Instead of using a zone-driven vacuum system, the printer automatically masks the table using individual vacuum holes.

The Ultra I, II, and III are compatible with flexible and rigid media up to 2 in., with a max. media weight of 300 lbs (5 lbs/sq ft). Controllable with the Ultra Control Station interface, the printers are also compatible with Caldera, Ergosoft, , and ColorBurst RIPs.

At a weight of 4000 lbs. (5000-lb. shipping weight), the printers require a 20 x 20-ft working area allocation.
