Roland has released the SolJet EJ-640, a 64-in. eco-solvent printer designed for high-volume print providers. The 1440-dpi EJ-640 employs dual staggered printheads, with the option of dual-CMYK or 7-color ink configurations; in 4-color mode, up to 2 L can be loaded for each color. The machine images up to 1098 sq ft/hr and offers features designed for high productivity such as a reinforced rail and frame structure for precision at high speeds, a feed adjuster for media take-up, and the Roland Ink Switching System for uninterrupted printing. Other features include the company’s VersaWorks Dual RIP software, an integrated tri-heater system, and Roland OnSupport, which emails job notifications.
