At PhotoPlus Expo 2003 in New York City Oct. 30 “? Nov. 1, Noristu will demonstrate that high-quality photofinishing services can be provided almost anywhere.

The Noritsu dDP-411 digital dry printer is an inkjet-centered system that offers low-cost, high-quality output without the chemical odors or waste disposal systems associated with typical photofinishers. At less than half the size of standard minilabs and operating on standard electrical current, this system works well for low-volume orders. It delivers up to 400 3.5- x 5-in. prints per hour and can handle enlargements up to 12 x 18 in. It accepts a variety of digital camera cards and media.

The new CT-2 Consumer Terminal is an easy-to-use, intuitive, counter top, touch screen consumer terminal for taking print orders from a variety of digital sources. The CT-2 allows customers to load their own digital files and place orders–selecting images, sizes, quantities, and print types. This system reduces labor costs and eliminates the risk of losing the customer's media.

The QSS-3101 High Capacity Fully Digital Minilab has a laser exposure system that uses Noritsu's multipaper matching technology. It can produce enlargements up to 12 x 18 and produces 2350 3.5- x 5-in.prints per hour. It can print a variety of products other than on standard and digital paper including greeting cards, calendar prints, ID photos, business cards, and package prints. The 3101 also comes equipped with a printer-paper processor and a high speed film scanner that provides digital processing of images for multiple sources. The Digital Ice? technology discovers surface dust and scratches on film and automatically corrects it during the scanning process, reducing the amount of makeover work.

The Noritsu QSS-3011 SM Digital Minilab offers a compact, fully digital minilab that can produce 1160 3.5- x 5-in. prints per hour and enlargements up to 8 x 14 in. This lab utilizes the Kodak SM Chemical System which simplifies chemical handling, decreases the amounts of chemicals and effluent, shortens processing times, and allows for easier chemical balancing. The 3011 also can input and manipulate images from virtually any source.

The QSS-2901 Fully Digital Minilab converts all scanned images into digital data for printing. Files can be manipulated (red-eye, exposure problems, contrast, sharpness) and Digital Ice corrects dust and scratch defects. The 2901 comes with a high speed film scanner and digital printing system. Two-lane processing and dual paper magazine system allow it to print up to 1350 6- x 4-in. prints per hour. The 2901 can output onto a variety of substrates (standard halide paper and digital media) and can input images from virtually any source. (Noritsu America Corporation: www.noritsu.com)
