Mimaki has launched the TS500P-3200, a 129-in. dye-sublimation printer designed for superwide textile markets such as home furnishings, hospitality fabrics, and retail signage. Possible applications include curtains, upholstery, bed linens (a king-size bedspread measures 120 x 120 in.), soft signage, and backlit P-O-P displays.

The TS500P-3200 features 12 printheads arranged in three staggered rows, reaching print speeds up to 1937 sq ft/hr. Mimaki reports that its high gap printhead combines ink droplet accuracy and wrinkle prevention when printing to thin transfer paper. As a further precaution, an automatic media feeder applies calibrated tension.

Additional features include waveform control technology that sets the optimum jetting angle for each ink color; variable droplet printing; Mimaki Advanced Pass System 4 to reduce banding, stripes, and uneven ink drying; a nozzle check unit and recovery system; and a 3-L bulk-ink system.

Also included is RasterLink6 RIP software; Mimaki’s TxLink3 textile RIP software is optional.
