Xaar has released the Xaar 1003 family of industrial inkjet printheads. The series is an evolution of the 1001 and 1002 lines; the 1003 heads now include the XaarGuard, designed to improve nozzle plate protection and extend maintenance-free usage.

The 1003 family exhibits the company’s new X-Act MEMS manufacturing process to improve print quality in single-pass applications. In addition, proprietary TF Technology with Hybrid Side Shooter architecture creates high-flow ink recirculation, designed to maintain reliability across harsh industrial environments, as well as horizontal and vertical jetting modes.

Three models will be available: the GS12 for ceramics applications; the GS6 for producing fine detail; and the GS40 for creating special effects.
