Local Kids Bring Community to Wall Graphics

“I want the people of the community to realize that The Jones Center is not just for me, but for everybody,” Bernice Jones said in 1995 when she opened the facility in Springdale, Arkansas. Today, the 220,000-square-foot center houses an ice arena, basketball court, indoor track, two swimming pools, and more. When the recreational pool was rebranded last September, all parties involved wanted to not only make the community feel welcome at the center, but also make them part and parcel of its character. Working together with Catapult Marketing, print provider Magna IV Communications created four 20 x 25-foot wall graphics featuring images of local kids. The décor, which also included several window clings and a graphic at the bottom of the pool itself, was printed with an HP Latex 280 on 3M Scotchcal IJ8624 textured surface vinyl, and laminated with 3M Scotchcal 8524 textured surface overlaminate.
