WHY? Want to connect with a customer or new acquaintance? Using the word “you” gives you a much better chance of succeeding. In fact, even better than using the word “you” is to start every appropriate sentence with “you”. That way you grab your listener’s attention … immediately.

How? Instead of “I like your suit”, say “You look great in that suit.” Instead of “That’s a good question,” say “You’ve asked a good question.”And if you’re asking the boss for a day off, instead of “Can I take Friday off, boss?”, you’ll get better results with “Boss, can you do without me Friday?”
