Here’s the Correct Way to Say “Thank You”

Make sure people know what you’re thanking them for.

Never let “thank you” stand naked and alone.

WHY? People hear “thank you” so much that it means literally nothing. To have it mean something, you need to dress “thank you” in a context — to tell the person what you’re thanking them for.

HOW? It doesn’t have to be incredibly creative.

Try: “Thank you for coming” or “Thank you for waiting” or “Thank you for being such a good customer” or “Thank you for understanding”. Those are all so much more powerful than an unadorned “Thank you”.
