EskoArtwork has announced the acquisition of Gradual Software, the Belgium-based desktop automation solutions company for professional publishing. Gradual Software will be absorbed into EskoArtwork's Enfocus brand.

Gradual Software's staff, assets, and technology will merge into the Enfocus operation, creating a new business unit within the EskoArtwork's umbrella. Peter Camps, the founder, chairman, and CEO of Gradual Software as well as founder and former CEO of Enfocus software, will be the senior vice president of Enfocus and will lead the unit.

Gradual Software was established in November 2004 to develop full-automation software for numerous stages of professional publishing. Its Switch software automates tasks of multiple participations in multiple organizations-even for those who use various systems and tools.

EskoArtwork and Enfocus will continue to support the Crossroads community developed by Gradual Software, the company reports. The Crossroads community was designed to organize software vendors offering publishing and workflow automation products
