Datacolor, the provider of color-management solutions and color-communication technology, has announced that its parent company, Eichhof Holding AG in Switzerland, will sell its remaining real-estate business interests. The move leaves Datacolor as the only operating company and paves the way for Eichhof Holding to rename itself as Datacolor AG. In a press release, the company reports that this action will 'give Datacolor resources to develop a strategic growth plan that builds upon its current success as an industry-leading technology company in color management solutions.'

Albert Busch, current vice president of Datacolor’s Industrial Business Unit, will succeed Terry Downes as CEO of Datacolor effective January 1, 2009. Busch joined Datacolor 10 months ago as vice president of the company’s Industrial Business Unit; he spent the last 16 years at Bekaert, a Belgium-based global manufacturer of advanced metal materials and coatings used in the automotive, textile, glass, automation, electronics, and chemical industries. His primary objective as CEO, the company says, will be to focus Datacolor on its core competencies in areas of business 'that will have the greatest impact on corporate growth moving forward.'

“We are facing challenging times, both as a company and as individuals,' says Busch, 'but I am confident that with proper focus, and adapting our strategies and actions accordingly, we will steer the company towards sustainable and profitable growth.”

Related executive appointments include:

* Terry Downes will head a new corporate business-development team to coincide with Busch’s strategy for the company’s future growth.

* Stefan Dobler, interim CFO at Eichhof Holding, has accepted the role as Datacolor’s CFO.

* Christoph Gamper, who currently manages Datacolor’s Consumer Business Unit in Europe, will become the company’s new vice president of the Consumer Business Unit.

Based in Lawrenceville, NJ, and founded in 1970, Datacolor is a division of Eichhof Holding, headquartered in Lucerne, Switzerland. The company serves a variety of industries including digital imaging, photography, graphic design, plastics, paint, leather, automotive, apparel, textiles, ink, and others. The company added the Spyder3Pro and Spyder3Print color-calibration solutions to its product line in late 2007.
