Canon Solutions America, Inc., a subsidiary of Canon U.S.A., Inc. today announced the release of COLORlynx Profiler, a cloud-based profiling solution designed to support the Company's imagePRESS series of digital presses and imageRUNNER ADVANCE multifunctional printers. The new COLORlynx Profiler offering extends Canon Solutions America's COLORlynx brand to encompass all Canon color production and light production color printers, as well as competitive color printers from other manufacturers.

“Combining ORIS cloud-based software with Canon's imagePRESS and imageRUNNER ADVANCE devices helps to ensure Canon Solutions America customers the highest level of color quality, accuracy and consistency,” said David Palmieri, Director of Strategic Accounts & Business Alliances for CGS Publishing Technologies International GmbH (CGS). “COLORlynx Profiler is a natural extension of the COLORlynx solution and makes it possible for any customer to easily maintain and diagnose color compliance for their digital presses or light production multifunctional devices, anywhere in the world.”

“With the introduction of COLORlynx Profiler, a greater number of customers working with a wide variety of both Canon and non-Canon printers have the ability to achieve professional level color management on a consistent basis,” said James Sharp, Executive Vice President of Professional Services for Canon Solutions America. “Since COLORlynx Profiler is cloud-based and accessible from a web browser, it reduces the need for capital investments in computer hardware, software and maintenance. For those customers needing advice or assistance in selecting, maintaining, and correcting their color output, the Canon Solutions America Professional Services team of production analysts stands at the ready to help with this exciting new tool.”

Using the Cloud
Canon Solutions America's COLORlynx Profiler uses patented technology to enable remote management of single or multiple devices over a secure Internet connection, with a local measurement device. ORIS color calibration algorithms ensure that colors are accurately reproduced and the highest level of gray balance stability is achieved.

COLORlynx Profiler's calibration profiles are generated and used directly in the digital front end of the color devices to offer greater color stability, ensuring color output is consistent and accurate for customers no matter where the device is located. COLORlynx Profiler delivers output that matches the customer's specifications, and the use of its color verification feature helps to ensure that color accuracy is consistent. Additionally, the software allows end users to enjoy superior gray balance output to increase their press utilization and reduce overall downtime due to color inconsistency.

The CGS and Canon Solutions America partnership offers all of Canon Solutions America's market segments the most powerful and cutting-edge color tools in the printing industry. Printers with brand-critical customers and those with high standards for color quality and consistency will realize immediate benefits with Canon Solutions America's COLORlynx family of cloud-based color management solutions.
