Beaver Paper and Graphic Media, Inc., the leading US-based manufacturer of engineered paper and textiles for the dye sublimation digital printing process is pleased to announce the inauguration of an in-house state-of-the-art laboratory. The multi-purpose test center will facilitate product development and will be staffed by a team to head color management and quality control professionals.

The research and development laboratory is housed in the worldwide corporate headquarters for Beaver Paper, just outside of Atlanta. The facility includes more than a dozen dye sublimation printers, water-based inks and heat presses from popular manufacturers in the industry.

Appointed to lead the laboratory team in its research and development efforts is Patrick Moore, a 14-year digital printing industry veteran. Moore’s background includes formulation chemistry, quality control and sublimation applications and holds a degree in Chemistry from the College of Charleston.

Bringing over a decade of practical print experience to the Beaver Paper laboratory is John Trimble who has consulted with all the major dye sublimation printer, software and ink manufacturers. His background also includes color matching and color management, on-site customer support and applications.

“The introduction of a fully capable color lab facility within Beaver Paper is very exciting for us,” said CEO Philip Prieur. “The goal is to emulate the digital print facilities of our customers to better identify and respond to their needs, both immediate and future. We’ve partnered with the major OEM dye sub players to create collaborative problem solving and address the demand from the marketplace.”

The company’s next public event will be April 9-11, 2015 at the International Sign Expo in Las Vegas and can be found in booth number 3996.
