BASF and Sawgrass Reach a Settlement in Patent Litigation

BASF takes product license under Sawgrass patents

Sawgrass Technologies, a US-based developer of digital transfer inks, and BASF, a global producer of performance chemicals for textiles, have reached a comprehensive settlement of the patent litigation between the two. As a result, BASF will take a product license under the Sawgrass patents.

Nathan Hale, CEO of Sawgrass Technologies, states, “We are delighted to enter into a new era of cooperation with BASF. To have the opportunity to further develop the sublimation ink market with one of the premier companies in the textile field is out good fortune indeed.”

At BASF, Juergen Weiser, head of Global Business Management for Inkjet Inks, notes “We at BASF are pleased to enter into a license agreement with Sawgrass that opens new business opportunities for our Bafixan? dye-sublimation inks on a worldwide basis.
