To help promote brand and product awareness, the in-house printing services group at The Hershey Company created and installed this wrap for its Hershey, Pennsylvania-based delivery truck.

The wrap was produced with the department’s new Roland SolJet Pro III XJ54 onto Avery Graphics vehicle wrap products MPI 1005 Easy Apply RS and DOL 1060 Gloss overlaminate. For this pilot project, Avery Dennison worked with Hershey’s in-house printing facility to install the truck wrap and trained several Hershey’s employees on wrap-install techniques.

Robert Wamsher, Hershey’s manager of printing services, points out that Hershey has had HP inkjets for indoor applications in-house for some time, and has been producing wide-format jobs for more than five years.

“But, the Roland SolJet Pro III XJ54 is our first solvent printer for outdoor materials,” he says. “Previously, outdoor materials such as vinyl banners were outsourced.” The delivery-truck wrap was the department’s first vehicle wrap; his department designer created the graphics.

“The Hershey Company is very pleased with the success of this project,” says Wamsher. “The truck wrap is an ideal way to promote our business and showcase the capabilities of our… in-house printing facility.”

Hershey is creating new graphic designs for additional truck wraps that will be used on vehicles elsewhere in the country.
