Online presence matters – especially to Austin Extreme Graphics. A client had just launched the Five Bucks Shuttle transportation company (think party bus plus more), and needed a wrap job. After clicking through Austin Extreme’s website and Yelp reviews, he called the team.

“He had created his logo, which was a buck and his company name, and submitted it to us online,” says Bianca Mendoza, customer service representative. He then met with the Austin Extreme team, bringing along his Ford E350 15-passenger van to confirm measurements and talk about the job, which included a full wrap: windows, roof, and all.

The only project issues occurred in the design room. “We had a challenge getting the wood panels to look like wood, as well as finding a high-quality image,” says Brian Ramos, designer.

After five hours of design work and client approval, production took two days followed by two days of installation. Austin Extreme Graphics used its HP Latex 330 printer on 54 inches by 150 feet of 3M Controltac 180Cv3 vinyl and their Seal 62 Pro Series wide-format laminator on 3M Scotchcal 8518 gloss overlaminate.

The shop, consisting of four employees, wraps four to eight vehicles a month. Recently, they’ve received many inquiries for vehicle stripes, and use 3M or Avery Dennison Supreme Wrapping film to create stripes in various and custom colors, shapes, and sizes. “We currently have a 2015 black Camaro that we are designing and installing Avery Carmine Red custom stripes on,” says owner Debbie Ohlman. (Red on black, you’re OK, Jack.) With customization and personalization trending in the wide-format space, giving the client the opportunity to create his own design is a no-brainer.
