Toners 2014 Conference Features OEMs and Production Printing

More big name OEMs are playing a role in the annual Toners Conference than ever before. The event is being held at the Fess Parker Doubletree Resort Hotel in Santa Barbara, California, June 2 – 4, 2014.

The conference is conducted jointly by the Tiara Group and the Graphic Communication Institute at Cal Poly.

In its 30th year, along with sessions on the science and technology of toners and inkjet media, the conference will address issues of digital production printing. Six of the world's leading OEMs will be sharing views on industry directions including EFI, Hewlett Packard, Kodak, Konica Minolta (represented by its dealer, Ultrex), Memjet, and Xanté.

The six OEMs will be featured in a panel discussion while Xanté, Ultrex (representing Konica Minolta), and Kodak will also be conducting individual sessions.

Robert Ross, CEO and founder of Xanté, is delivering the conference keynote address covering the relevance of high-speed digital output today and tomorrow using toner and inkjet. Ross will also provide an overview of one of the fastest output engines in existence, and discuss the importance of industry partnerships.

Ken Butcher, Director of Production Print/Digital Press, Ultrex (representing Konica Minolta and Ultrex) will present on toner and inkjet for production printing and how they are becoming the popular choices. Butcher will cover the flexibility of toner and inkjet systems, and provide practical tips on maximizing media mileage as well as for maintaining consistent quality and productivity for long- and short-run operations

Thomas McHugh, Ph. D., General Manager, Materials Technology & Business Development, Eastman Kodak Company will conduct a session entitled, “Xerography Comes Full Circle.” McHugh will present a holistic approach to providing cost beneficial green solutions for the printing industry with emphasis on Electro Photographic imaging materials and the manufacturing technologies used in their production.

Key first-time industry announcements are expected at the conference. There are presently registrants from 20 states and 6 nations attending including Canada, China, Germany, Japan, The Netherlands, and the United States.
