Nando’s, a chain of chicken restaurants in South Africa, is more than just a place to eat; the company also takes pride in being a supporter of local art. So, for its Douglasdale location, the company commissioned a loyal affiliate, Robin Sprong Wallpaper (RSW), to bring character to the venue with a 400-square-foot ceiling graphic. Sprong worked with artist Atang Tshikare to design a pattern that was then digitally converted and printed onto Dreamscape Suede wallcovering material. The graphics were reverse-printed via RSW’s HP Designjet L26500 and UV-varnished for added protection. Installation required a scaffolding tower on wheels and an industrial-strength glue.
