This past spring, a photo exhibit featuring images of people whose lives have been affected by cancer-whether they have lived with it, survived it, or have lost a loved one to the disease-began its two-year journey traveling across Canada. The exhibit is the work of PhotoSensitive, an Ontario non-profit collective of Canadian photographers, which partnered with the Canadian Cancer Society; exhibit and event company Kubik; and print-provider Jones and Morris in Toronto to create and carry out the project.

The exhibit, which began its journey in Toronto and will visit each province over the next 24 months, comprises a collection of photos displayed in a series of doorway like structures. The display was designed and constructed by Kubik, while Jones and Morris output the photos housed in the structures.

The print shop used its Durst Rho 205 printer and UV ink to print images on both sides of 6mm Sintra board measuring 22 1/2 x 65 inches. The board was precut to the required size and holes were drilled for installation before printing. The exhibit was launched with a total of 54 panels, which took 2 1/2 days to print. Total output was 1500 square feet.

Additional images will be added as the exhibit makes its way around the country. Tim Morris, president of Jones and Morris explains, 'As it travels from city to city, panels are added to reflect local images and also to acknowledge sponsors who have joined the cause but were not necessarily involved at the initial launch.'
