Outdoor Ad Revenue Up Mid-Year in 2004

Outdoor advertising industry revenue showed steady growth in the first half of 2004, and a sustained 5.5% increase over the same period last year, according to the Outdoor Advertising Association of America (OAAA).

Outdoor media performance rose considerably in five of 10 ad categories, says the OAAA: Real Estate (12.6%), Financial (11.4%), Local Services & Amusement (10.1%), Automotive Dealer & Services (8.8%), and Automotive, Auto Accessories & Equipment (8%).

Other categories showed modest performance: Restaurants, up 1.5%; Retail, up 1.4%, Media & Advertising, up 0.9%, Hotels & Resorts, no change. The Beer & Wine category was off 2.6%. (OAAA: www.oaaa.org)
