Roland has introduced its new VersaCamm SP-i series of printer/cutters, including the SP-300i (30-in.) and the SP-540i (54-in.). Both SP-i models are 4-color (CMYK) printers that feature integrated Roland print/cut technology, 1440 x 720-dpi resolution, and new enhancements, including:

• Roland Intelligent Pass Control, designed for smoother gradations and dense, solid colors; in addition, this feature enables the new SP-i series to hit speeds up to 50% faster in standard print mode than previous SP models, Roland reports;
• A new, heavy-duty, media-handling system—the 300i can handle rolls up to 44 lbs, while the 540i can accept up to 66 lbs.;
• VersaWorks 3.2 RIP software;
• Integrated heater system; and
• Eco-Sol Max eco-solvent inks.

Print speeds: The 540-i can hit 84 sq ft/hr in High-Speed mode and 52 sq ft/hr in Standard mode (on banner material).
