MIMAKI USA Showcases Application Versatility at GRAPH EXPO 2014

Mimaki USA, a leading manufacturer of wide-format inkjet printers and cutters, plans to showcase a variety of its products and technologies in its booth 2644 at GRAPH EXPO®, September 28-October 1, 2014, in Chicago. In addition, the company will participate in the Inkjet Candy Store and present in the ISA Wide Format Innovation Theatre during the show.

In Mimaki’s booth 2644, the following products will be showcasing a variety of applications:
Introduced earlier this year, the new JV300 roll-based printer will be on display. Built on the proven JV Series platform – a workhorse in the company’s roll-based printer line-up – JV300 Series printers include newly developed printheads in a staggered configuration and inkjet technology with precise dot control that delivers higher productivity without sacrificing quality. Two printers will be in the booth, each running a different set of inks. One unit will be running SS21 fast-drying, eco-solvent inks that can print on hundreds of media choices for indoor and outdoor signs, posters and banners. The other will be configured with Sb53 dye-sublimations inks for soft signage, textile, sportswear and furnishing fabric production.

The JFX200-2513 UV-LED flatbed printer is a smaller format model with the same operational features of the larger, flagship JFX500-2131 printer. The JFX200-2513 printer features a 4-foot by 8-foot, landscape-oriented format that is small enough to fit into most sign and graphic print shops. With the capability to print onto thick substrates, it offers the ability to produce a diverse range of prints for both indoor and outdoor use, such as backlit panels, signs and posters, rigid packaging and exhibit displays.

The versatile JV400LX printer uses eco-friendly, water-based latex inks that are fast-drying for immediate handling or secondary processing. The seven-color inkset includes Orange and Green for an increased color gamut and white ink making it the ideal latex printer for proofing and package prototyping applications.

The UJF-6042 tabletop flatbed printer can print on a variety of substrates including plastics, metal, wood, leather and glass up to 24 inches wide by 16.5 inches long and up to 5.9 inches high to produce gifts and novelties such as customized smartphone cases, pens, nameplates and more. It can also be used in an industrial process to produce items such as membrane switches. The Kebab option enables printing directly onto cylindrical objects such as bottles and candle holders.

The UJF-3042HG printer offers the same features as the UJF6042 in a smaller footprint. With a print area of 16.5 inches wide by 11.8 inches long, it can produce gifts and novelties such as personalized magnets, cards, gift boxes, phone cases etc.

The Inkjet Candy Store in booth 4067A is a place where visitors can see inkjet printers from key vendors running side-by-side. Mimaki will be demonstrating a JFX200-2513 UV-LED flatbed printer in this special section.

The International Sign Association and GRAPH EXPO have partnered to create a forum where attendees can learn about wide format technologies. Mimaki will be presenting two informative sessions:
• Utilizing Digital Technology for Just-in-Time Packaging and Prototyping, Monday, September 29 at 2:30 pm
• Complementing Offset Production with Digital UV Flatbed Technology for Short-Run Applications, Tuesday, September 30 at 11:30 am
