Mimaki has upgraded its JV22-160 machine to make it more flexible and user-friendly. The new JV22-160 Ultra-8 offers 8 colors–CMYKcmog dye-sub, aqueous pigmented or dye, or textile pigment inks. (The older Mimaki JV22-160 offered CMYK x 2-color or 6-color water-based pigmented inks or disperse dye-sub inks.)

The new flexible inksets, says Mimaki, are designed for specific markets–for photos/graphics (photo dye inks and pigment archival inks), and textiles (dye-sublimation textile acid dyes, textile reactive dyes, and textile pigment inks).

In addition, the JV22-160 Ultra-8 also offers: resolutions up to 1400 dpi; an automatic take-up device; and a selectable media-thickness feature. A new Artwork printing mode will be made available in June 2005. (Mimaki USA: www.mimakiusa.com)
