Owners of the Mimaki JV3 can soon print
with the new SS2 solvent inkset, which
includes white ink. The JV3-75 SPII, JV3-
160SP, and JV3-250SP models, with new
firmware, can print with the following ink
configurations: S models: CMYK + WW
(two white inks = double ink density); SP
models: CMYKcm + WW.

The inks will be available in 440- and
220ml cartridges. At ISA, the SS2 white
inks were printing onto clear, gold, and silver
films, and Mimaki was showing sign,
label, and sticker applications for the inks.
Expect the new SS2 inkset by June or
July 2005.

In addition, Mimaki reports, it will also
introduce fluorescent and spot colors
(orange, green, fluorescent pink, yellow,
