The Job Hive Estates, a real estate agency out of Newcastle upon Tyne, England, envisioned converting a dated property into a contemporary office more consistent with their fresh and bold brand image. Hive Estates turned to local large-format signage supplier One Sign & Digital to innovate their space by creating double-sided window vinyl for the office and their other vacant housing properties. Hive Estates also wanted a for their Nissan X-Trail that could create some buzz.

“At One Sign & Digital, we print any size, onto any media, making the client’s imagination our limit,” says Digital Marketing Coordinator Marc Henderson. This versatility made One Sign the perfect choice for Hive’s complex job.

Production Hive Estates wanted vinyl on both sides of the office , so One Sign printed the honeycomb graphic twice using an HP Latex 360 printer and meticulously layered the two together.

But first, One Sign had to find a way to maintain the Hive brand’s bold white and orange color scheme. The shop printed on both clear and white Avery Dennison MPI vinyl and then laminated them together. Another layer of clear laminate was then applied to the orange print. In total, they printed more than 538 square feet of vinyl.

“Due to the branding requirements and guidelines provided by the client, we decided that the best option was to print on numerous forms of media,” says Henderson.

The vehicle wrap for Hive Estate’s Nissan X-Trail was printed onto 3M Controltac IJ380 film and laminated with Avery Dennison Gloss Laminate DOL 2800, covering roughly 200 square feet. The entire job spanned a one-week period in November 2016.
