HP’s newest batch of latex printers includes the HP Latex 560 and 570, designed for medium- to large-sized PSPs, and the superwide HP Latex 1500.

Featuring a spindleless pivot table and automatic skew adjustment, the 64-in. HP Latex 560 and 570 are engineered to increase hands-off operation time. The media handling system supports and loads rolls up to 121 lbs, reportedly in less than 1 min. The machines can also self-report problems with a status beacon that can be viewed from a distance, and users of the can manage jobs remotely.

Print speeds for the 500 series reach up to 248 sq ft/hr. HP reports that the pair’s vivid print mode outputs 50% more ink density. Additional features include a wiper roller accessory for banner and vinyl printing, and front-facing maintenance and loading capabilities.

The HP Latex 1500 images up to 800 sq ft/hr on media up to 126 in. wide. Features include 1200-dpi HP Thermal Inkjet printheads; automatic nozzle replacement; an optical media advance sensor; and an embedded spectrophotometer. HP reports prints are dry and scratch resistant immediately after printing.

The 1500 printer also features a status beacon for unattended printing, and ink cartridges are delivered in 5-L quantities for fewer refills. The machine is equipped with LED lighting to simplify loading.

Optional features for the 1500 include a dual-roll kit, which enables simultaneous printing on rolls up to 64 in. wide; inline postpress slitters; a roll-to-freefall kit, which allows users to begin finishing while the job is still being printed; a double-sided day-night kit that automatically prints double-sided backlit applications; and an ink collector kit for porous substrates such as textiles and mesh banner.
