Modeled after the Art Everywhere UK campaign, five of America’s leading art museums – the Dallas Museum of Art, Art Institute of Chicago, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, National Gallery of Art, and Whitney Museum of American Art – selected works of art that represent American history and culture for Art Everywhere US. The American public voted for their favorite artworks, and the final selection of 58 pieces was showcased in all 50 states during the month of August as part of the “largest outdoor art show.”

The Art Everywhere US campaign ran on 50,000 out-of-home formats – both dynamic signage and digital print – including vehicle wraps, billboards, bus shelters, wallscapes, and more, reaching millions of people every day.

Print shops involved include Circle Graphics (www.circlegraphicsonline.com), Independent’s (www.independentsservice.com), Kubin-Nicholson (www.kubin.com), and MetroMedia Technologies (www.mmt.com).

Kubin-Nicholson, an 89-year-old large-format print shop headquartered in Milwaukee and specializing in out of home, printed different American artwork for installments all over the US.

“We shipped these products all over the country – from California to New York, from Florida to Arizona, and to about 15 to 20 other states,” says Nancy Munroe, director of client services at Kubin-Nicholson.

The shop printed 202 14 x 48-foot billboards (utilizing 17 art images) and two 12 x 25-foot billboards (two art images) with its HP Scitex XP5300 UV digital printer and its Vutek GS5000r flatbed printer; 65 junior posters (four art images) using its HP Turbojet digital printer; and 17 queen-size buses (five art images) on its Vutek GS3200 flatbed press. The bulletins were printed on 7-ounce vinyl, the bus wraps were printed on a self-adhesive vinyl, and the junior posters were printed on a wet-strength paper product.
