DigiFab Systems has released ts DigiFab Evolution Graphics RIP, a textile and graphics RIP that is capable of driving large-format as well as desktop printers.

The RIP features variable dot control, 8-channel ink manipulation, and individual ink saturation controls, allowing users to customize printing or choose built-in color profile. Advanced color management includes RGB, CMYK, Lab, HSV, HSL, hexachrome and octachrome color modes, and it supports ICC 4.0 color profiles. An advanced interactive layout module supports crop, resize, rotate, flip, position, and preview options to minimize ink and media waste. The Evolution RIP accepts files created in major software packages as well as commercial design software such as Illustrator, Photoshop, and Corel. In addition, it has a RIP-on-the-fly feature, which allows for printing as soon as the file is opened, reducing idle time to zero.

The DigiFab Systems Evolution RIP supports most major medium- and large-format printers such as Encad, Epson, HP, Mimaki, and Roland.

Price: Ranges from $500 to $3000; an optional DigiFab Coloring Module (for spot color) lists at $2000. (Digifab Systems: www.digifab.com)
