Finding a ready and willing audience at last year’s show, Colter & Peterson is sticking with what works. When attendees gather at Graphics of the Americas from February 26-28, visitors to the C&P booth (367) at the Miami Beach Convention Center will have five outstanding versions of the Microcut® automated back gauge control system for paper cutters to choose from.

A year ago, North America’s largest independent distributor of paper cutters and paper handling equipment introduced the new Microcut COLOR WS and Microtrack II retrofit kits. The pair this year will be joined by Microcut PLUS, Microcut JR and Microcut B-65. All five offer affordable, game-changing back-end options.

Representing a terrific value since it costs a fraction of the price for a new paper cutter, Microcut caught the attention of customers from Mexico, Central and South America at GOA last year. Looking for a system that is easy to install and requires little maintenance is not an easy proposition in the Latin American market. Customers also understand the value of support that is available from C&P when needed.

Microcut has gained the attention of a global audience as it rapidly approaches 35,000 installations. Highly accurate and efficient, all five systems can be adapted to any brand or size paper cutter ranging from 20-150 inches. A standard feature on C&P’s popular Prism® and Saber® line of paper cutters, Microcut instantly memorizes the cutting sequences as the back gauge automatically positioning itself for each precise cut within 1/64th of an inch.

Each system offers unique benefits. Microcut COLOR WS guides correct position movement faster and more accurately with computer-controlled precision. An 8” wide format touch screen display allows for quick and simple set up.

Microtrack II offers a digital display and programming guide that increases the accuracy and productivity of manually operated paper cutters. This cost-effective microprocessor based unit features Manual, Program and Automatic modes with visual alerts so the operator is notified when the back gauge is properly positioned.

Microcut PLUS is regarded by customers as a warhorse with a 12” wide format touch screen and new microcip® and microfacts® features. Programs can be uploaded from the network connection with a USB device using 3/4 files. In addition to saving valuable time, no additional hardware or software is necessary.

Microcut JR appeals mostly to smaller shops using paper cutters less than 37” in size. Advanced programming options include label and sheet divide, allowing complicated jobs to be programmed with only a few data entries.

Microcut B-65 is a turnkey paper cutter clamp/control system with a slew of benefits. It brings any flywheel cyclical paper cutting machine up to current standards with state-of-the-art electronics and requires the installation of Microcut PLUS WS for the operator interface.
