Agfa Graphics Hosts Red Carpet Event

In early March, Agfa Graphics held its first-ever North American Red Carpet customer event at the company’s new Canadian competence center in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. At the event, Agfa customers and representatives of the press were introduced to two new Agfa printers – the Jeti Titan S and HS – and were able to experience its array of wide-format inkjet solutions consisting of printers, UV inks, media, workflow software, and finishing.

Speakers included Agfa Graphics vice president Dominiek Arnout who shared the latest research developments, and SGIA president Dan Marx, who spoke about market and technology trends and drivers in the sign and display industry. Topics included “Expanding S+D into Industrial Apps,” “Developing UV Ink Technologies,” and “Advantages of Integrated Workflow vs. Standalone-Alone RIPs: Asanti,” as well as a product presentation on the Titan S and HS. Also on hand was Marc Fortier, president of RP Graphics (www.rpgraphics.com) in Toronto, one of the first shops to use the new Jeti Titan HS system through Agfa’s partner-development program.

Both new Jeti Titan S and HS flatbed UV-inkjet printers can accommodate 122 x 79-inch rigid media and utilize Ricoh Gen 5 printheads (1280 nozzles, 7-pL droplet size). The printers feature a CMYKcm + white inkset, using Agfa Graphics' fast-curing Anuvia UV-curable inks designed specifically for high-end production platforms. Top print speed is 1722 square foot per hour; maximum resolution is 720 x 1200 dpi. See April issue for a full report.

Visitors were also given the opportunity to examine first-hand the Jeti Titan S and HS systems and the Anapurna M3200 RTR, as well as view and interact with the Asanti workflow automation software. A plant tour was also provided, as well as individual viewing sessions of other machines including its Jeti 1224 HDC flatbed, Anapurna M2540 FB flatbed, and more.

Agfa Graphics has been holding similar VIP Red Carpet Events in its headquarters in Mortsel, Belgium, and plans to continue to have more events throughout the world. These focused events are designed to give customers insight to the company’s newest wide-format printing systems, software developments, and other solutions, as well as access to the company’s technology experts.
