X-Rite and Canon USA have announced the availability of the i1Process Control software for Canon imagePress digital presses. Developed by X-Rite, i1Process Control provides imagePress users with increased control over color print production output and the ability to maximize color workflow. When used in concert with X-Rite’s i1Pro Spectrophotometer, i1Process Control allows users to easily profile their displays and imagePress digital presses, create libraries of spot colors, and generate simulation recipes for use in various applications. Canon imagePress users also have the option to add an X-Rite i1iO Automated Scanning Table into their workflow, allowing for the quick and accurate hands-free measurement of color swatches.

X-Rite also has announced a new i1Prism Color-Management Software Development Toolkit (SDK), providing X-Rite partners and OEMs access to X-Rite’s profiling technology and allowing tight workflow integration with prepress and printing systems. Key features of the new i1Prism SDK include: X-Rite’s Optical Brighter Compensation methodology, allowing OEMs to compensate for color shifts in ICC output profiles typically caused by optical brightening agents (OBAs) in papers and other substrates; advanced controls for color separation and black generation, allowing for greater flexibility and a higher degree of control in building profiles; and X-Rite’s iterative profiling technology, which enables developers to create solutions requiring significantly fewer color patches to build accurate printer profiles, says X-Rite.
