Wausau Paper has announced that its new Exact Digital papers have been qualified for the Kodak NexPress 2100 and HP Indigo digital production color presses by the Rochester Institute of Technology's (RIT) Printing Application Laboratory. All 49 items in the Exact Digital product line have been qualified for use with Kodak NexPress equipment, while all 12 coated paper items in the line were qualified for the HP Indigo, including both gloss and matte finishes.

“The media-evaluation programs we provide on behalf of HP Indigo and Kodak NexPress assist suppliers in the continued development of products that meet the constant demands of the graphic communications industry,” says Bill Garno, director of the Printing Applications Laboratory within RIT's College of Imaging Arts and Sciences. “The Exact Digital papers performed successfully on all of the established evaluation criteria for both the HP Indigo and Kodak NexPress digital presses.”

The Exact Digital line is specifically formulated for use in commercial digital printing presses, electrophotographic copiers, and inkjet and laser printers. Papers in the Exact Digital line feature smooth, uniform surfaces and ink holdout; all but the Premium Multipurpose paper carry a 96 brightness rating. The uncoated papers in the Exact Digital line carry the Green Seal certification, recognizing that the paper is produced from at least 30-percent recycled post-consumer fiber. Exact Digital basis weights range from 20 lb Writing to 80 lb Cover, and are available in sizes ranging from 8.5 x 11 to 12 3/8 x 18 1/8 in.
