TexPress, Inc., the US subsidiary of Japan Network Service Co., Ltd., has appointed LexJet Corporation its exclusive distributor in the US. LexJet is now responsible for sales and support of the TexPress DSS-1800 II direct textile printing system and companion TexPress Light Fast Inks in the US.

The 74-in. TexPress DSS-1800 II is targeted as a solution for lightweight flag and banner, tradeshow graphics, and the custom textile-printing markets, including theater curtains, backdrops, and more. The machine prints directly on untreated polyester fabrics using TexPress disperse dye inks. TexPress first showed the DSS-1800 II at the ISA Expo this past April in Orlando; the machine was then formally launched at the SGIA show in Las Vegas in September.

“Our distribution agreement with LexJet, coming on the heels of a terrific SGIA show, represents a major milestone for us because LexJet is a major force with a national presence in the wide format printing market, and the company has a first-class reputation for both sales and support,”? says Chuck Sharp, president of TexPress. “LexJet”?s market presence and the additional expertise gained from its acquisition of Sone Systems will help us continue the momentum we gained at SGIA”?.”?

The 6-color DSS 1800 II (CMYKcm) offers a choice of printing modes: high speed at 360 x 360 dpi in two passes with output speeds up to 344 sq. ft/hr (32 sqm/hr); normal speed at 360 x 720 dpi in four passes with output at up to 172 sq. ft./hr (16 sqm/hr); and fine mode at 720 x 720 dpi in eight passes at output speeds up to 86 sq. ft./hr (8 sqm/hr). An optional, built-in heat cutter automatically sears and cuts the fabric to eliminate fraying and reduce manual cutting labor. The machine can print on untreated and treated polyester fabrics. The resultant prints are outdoor durable for up to 2 years, reports TexPress. Price: $79,900.

“The TexPress DSS-1800 II is a great addition to our product line,”? says Dean Lambert, LexJet”?s vice president. “The killer feature of this printer is that it is literally a one-step process. There”?s no need for a transfer process of any sort”?.”?

The Tokyo-based Japan Network Service Co. manufactures dye-sublimation printing systems, dye-sublimation transfer equipment, direct-print dye-sublimation equipment, and multiple dye-sublimation inks.
