LaserSoft Imaging has announced that its SilverFast Ai Studio professional-level scanner software now supports discontinued high-end scanners such as the Heidelberg Nexscan, Tango, and Topaz series. The software provides a current workflow solution to “the thousands of units still in operation,” says LaserSoft, making it possible to integrate the scanners with new high-powered Macs and PCs running current software.

LaserSoft’s Topaz, Nexscan, and Tango packages include Ai Studio with IT8 calibration, HDR Studio for 48-bit processing, a 6 x 7 transparency IT8 target, a 5 x 7 reflective IT8 target (both have barcodes for automatic data reference linking), SilverFast: the Official Guide, and the SilverFast manual. Also included is a SCSI card that has been tested for set up.

MSRP: $2500; $500 for a 2-year additional support subscription.
