GableSigns & Graphics, a full-service sign shop in Baltimore, has launched SignGuru, a sign-industry reference application (“app”) designed for mobile communication devices.

Developed by the company’s INOV8 team, SignGuru’s first version — which is fully functional on Apple’s iPhone, iTouch and iPad — features a “technical toolbox” that includes a color-combination guide, distance-viewing chart, cross-references of common sign and material finishes, LEED and ADA guidelines, basic illumination standards, and a comprehensive sign dictionary, among other functions.

The SignGuru won Best New Product award at the Society for Environmental Graphic Designers (SEGD) annual conference, which took place June 2-5 in Washington, D.C. The app can be downloaded free of charge from the iTunes store or from the SignGuru website.
