OCTOBER 30 -NOVEMBER 3

MANAGEMENT Praise is a great tool for keeping morale elevated heading into a busy time of the year. Even something simple – “I love how you handled that install complaint” – can go a long way.

NOVEMBER 6-10

INVENTORY Are deliveries getting dicey? Make sure any important orders are in order and check in with your vendors.

NOVEMBER 13-17

habits How you finish a workday is as important as how you start it. If you’re having trouble knowing when to stop, try a closing ritual – say, straightening your desk or creating tomorrow’s to-do list, or writing down good ideas. Week 4

NOVEMBER 20-24

ANALYSIS Shutting down for Thanksgiving for part of this week? If your company is prone to being busy during summer and early fall, use the extra downtime to analyze your company’s performance.

NOVEMBER 27-DEC 1

OUTREACH Get started now on holiday gifts for employees, clients, or other business connections (you’ve got your family and friends taken care of already, right?). Christmas is almost here!

DECEMBER 4-8

FINANCES The end of the year is approaching fast. Pre-order any tax forms you’ll need from the IRS.

DECEMBER 11-15

NETWORKING Have you gotten any holiday-party invites from top clients or other VIP business connections? Have your salespeople? With everyone primed to socialize, this is a great time of year for networking.

DECEMBER 18-22

PERSONAL CARE The excitement of this time of year can make good sleep elusive. Make rest a priority, whether by changing your routine or trying something new — lavender oil, melatonin, or maybe a hot mug of chamomile.

DECEMBER 25-29

EMAIL Starting the new year fresh could mean deep-cleaning your facility, but you could also focus on getting your digital workspace in order – maybe by finally achieving inbox zero!

MONTHLY PROJECT

Take a Shot at Having Some Fun

Alleviate stress by building time for staff to connect in a relaxed setting. Although plenty of people enjoy happy hour, Pat Dacy of 3V Signs & Graphics doesn’t stop there. “We will have a “Beer 30” on Fridays from time to time,” he reports. “Other beverages are made available for those who do not drink alcohol. [It’s a] great debrief session with input from front of the shop, beyond the wall, and in the field. We have also had a laser shooting range in the back of the shop a couple of times – great fun, and no alcohol around the weapons!” — Pat Dacy, 3V Signs & Graphics
